These data reveal how harmful a lack of attention to this area can be.
Therefore, it is important that companies invest in prevention, through engineering measures, good process practices and employee education, actions that further strengthen workplace safety. The role of the Occupational Safety engineer is fundamental in this context. The role of professionals working in this area is to control the high rates of accidents and occupational illnesses, which, despite improving in recent decades, are still considered high.
